Soulflow Series: Grounding & Rooting

Connie Christine

Grounding and rooting in yoga is a practice focused on creating a strong connection with the earth, fostering stability and presence. By anchoring ourselves firmly to the ground, we enhance balance, cultivate mindfulness + centering, and deepen our connection to nature. As we root ourselves, we also find a sense of steadiness, calm, and inner strength both on and off the mat.

Grounding and rooting poses that promote stability:

  • Mountain Pose

  • Tree Pose

  • Warrior I, II, III

  • Goddess Pose

  • Downward Facing Dog

  • Child's Pose

  • Garland Pose

  • Standing Forward Fold

  • Corpse Pose
